Bridget Mallon
editor-in-chief
Hi Threadies! I'm so excited to be Thread's Editor-in-Chief for 2012-2013. I'm a magazine journalism major specializing in French and film and I have been obsessed with fashion for as long as I can remember. Being a part of Thread has been one of the best experiences of my college career, and I can't wait to see the publication continue to grow this year. Style to me is a totally individual thing, and my personal style is always changing, but one thing is always constant — I wear what makes me feel confident. Whether I'm borrowing from vintage trends of the past or playing with what's in style now, as long as I feel good, I know I look good.

Maddie Gaither
managing editor
Greetings Thread people, Maddie here. I'm a senior studying magazine journalism, specializing in fine arts and women's and gender studies. My job as managing editor is to, well, manage. I see that production for each issue runs smoothly and act as Bridget's right-hand woman. When I'm not gettin' Thread-y with it, I can be found running, hiking or, paradoxically, eating red velvet cupcakes from Fluff. Fashion, for me, is about pairing basic staples with luxurious and detail-oriented accessories. (Read: I spend my money on overpriced bags and bracelets.) My friends will tell you I never end up wearing the first thing I try on, and I have to admit they're right. I'm learning to accept this inconvenient attribute, though. After all, those who frown upon outfit ADHD don't have as much fun getting dressed.
Katie O'Connor
creative director
Hey, kids. I'm a senior that's often spotted sporting red lipstick, black boots and a whole lotta rings. My obsession with fashion blossomed when my primary goals in life were having the most replies in the Teen Vogue fashion forums and not falling while wearing heels in high school. Currently, I'm striving toward some more commendable goals like attaining a degree in journalism and seeing how many cups of coffee I can drink in one day. I keep my creative juices flowing by making time for frequent crafter-noons and long blog-stalking sessions. If I'm staring at you with a glazed look, it's probably because I'm trying to guess where you got that rad skirt and how I can steal it from you. One day I hope to marry Dale Cooper.
Brooke Bunce
seams editor
Hi there! I'm a junior magazine journalism major specializing in French and women's and gender studies. I'm way too obsessed with sleeved dresses, high-waisted shorts, floral patterns, Peter Pan collars and anything with a feline print (yes, I'm THAT crazy cat lady). When I'm not writing for The Athens NEWS, ACRN.com or any other campus publication, I'm usually perusing fashion blogs, dreaming of baked goods and snapping pictures with my Nikon. Sometimes I wish I were Nancy Drew, but for now I'll settle for playing the computer games. The majority of my closet comes from Goodwill and thrift stores, even though I wish it all came from ModCloth and ASOS. Oh yeah, and Martha Stewart is totally my idol.

Hi Threadies! I'm Kathryn, your crafty DIY editor. I'm a senior double majoring in magazine journalism and English literature. I'm an old cat lady at heart and love cardigans, high-waisted skirts, and clunky jewelry. You'll usually find me sprawled out on College Green with my nose in a book and a fun accessory in my hair. When I'm not reading, I like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain. I love being creative, whether it's making jewelry, painting or throwing together some cute home décor. My favorite color is mint green (at least for now!) and I find my happiness in the little things. I want to be a kid when I grow up.
Jessie Cadle
who what wear editor
Hello lovelies, I'm Jessie, a senior journalism major. I'm also a political science and law minor, but that doesn't really fit with the alliteration. As Who What Wear editor, I probe why people wear what they wear. When I'm not journalism-ing, I perform improvisational comedy with OU Improv and write for The Post. I love smelling old books, wearing rings with catchy phrases and painting my nails poppin' colors. My style is nerd chic: cardigans, tucked-in shirts, pastels. "Rock out with your argyle socks out" is my policy.

photo chief
Hello! I'm a senior studying commercial photography, animal lover, sweet tooth and movie addict. I am also honored to be the 2012-2013 photo chief for Thread. I have been a part of the magazine since our first issue. Being a photographer for Thread has been an incredible opportunity, allowing me the experience of working creatively with a team of writers, stylists and designers many times to produce portfolio-worthy work. I am very passionate about guiding my team of photographers and filmmakers this year as we create visually exciting, creative and fashionable visuals for the magazine. I'm there to help every step of the way from brainstorming to assisting on photo shoots. I welcome all grade levels of photographers from commercial, photojournalism, and fine art backgrounds to join Thread's team.
Michelle Kappeler
photo editor
Hi everyone! I am a senior majoring in commercial photography and specializing in art history. I have been involved in Thread since its start in 2010, and I have enjoyed watching the magazine grow. My favorite part about being a photo editor is getting to work first hand with designers, photographers, stylists and writers. It's always exciting to see the result of our combined talents. Outside of Thread my activities include painting, making collages, browsing photo blogs and working in a floral department. As for my fashion style, I prefer casual and comfy but love getting fancy every once in a while. I'm a sucker for fall attire, especially outerwear.

I am a senior double majoring in magazine journalism and interactive multimedia with specializations in interior architecture and sociology. I love fonts, Pantones, headbands and Slurpees. I always have a hair tie on my wrist and sunglasses on my head. My closet is full of bright colors, especially running shorts and sneakers—the brighter, the better. I prefer summer over winter and ice cream everyday of the year. My favorite magazine is Real Simple, but Thread is a close second. Sale is my middle name. One day I will become an extreme coupon-er, but I'll still shop at Target. You don't have to break the bank to look good.
Gina Ranalli
web editor
I'm Gina, a senior interactive multimedia major. I've been designing for Thread for a year now. Currently, I am the web editor. You'll either find me in Front Room or back in Shively working as an Administrative Resident Assistant. I also have an internship with Residential Housing as a designer. After I graduate in 2013, I hope to move back to the east coast to either NYC, DC or where I grew up in Philly. Target and Forever 21 are the best stores ever made. When it comes to fashion, I believe clothes should be cute, comfy and cheap.
Carly Wiita
copy chief
¡Hola! I'm a dual major in magazine journalism and Spanish here at OU. I've been a part of Thread since the beginning, and I'm excited to see what Thread has to offer for years to come. As Copy Chief, I make sure Thread has proper grammar, spelling, AP Style, etc. Just call me the resident grammar nerd! It's a major turnoff to me when people don't know how to use proper grammar. Fun facts about me: If it comes in orange, I'll take it! But if it comes in pink, that's a close second. I can turn anything into a Harry Potter or Gilmore Girls reference. Prefiero hablar en español en mi tiempo libre, y quiero vivir en México o España después de graduarme. In my spare time, I drink coffee and read any book I can get my hands on. I believe an outfit is never complete without a great pair of shoes.

你好, Threadies! I am a senior public relations/journalism major. My combined interest in PR and fashion will help me get Thread out to Athens … and the world! Aside from wishing my life would mimic "The Devil Wears Prada" and worshipping Anna Wintour, I simply feel that fashion is a mood ring — constantly changing to reflect how you feel. My favorite labels include Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and YSL, but my most prized possessions typically come from Target, Forever 21 and H&M. If you don't see me perusing fashion magazines and blogs, you can probably find me studying Chinese, tweeting, blogging, sipping coffee, painting my nails or in some chic yoga pants on my way back from a work out. I think I express myself most vividly through jewelry — bracelets, bangles, watches and rings are most intriguing to me. I adore high heels, and I hope to one day (proudly) wear them Band-Aid free.

Hey. Ho. I'm Jazmine, an Atlanta native, Dallas resident and California dreamer. I'm also a senior with aspirations in public relations and becoming Mrs. Aubrey Drake Graham (AKA Drake, AKA "Wheelchair Jimmy" from "Degrassi"). I believe laughter is the best medicine, Coca-Cola is better than Pepsi, the microwave is a fine substitute for a stove and no outfit is complete without a smile and winged eyeliner. If I'm not thumbing through NYLON, eating pizza, watching "(500) Days Of Summer," re-reading Mindy Kaling's memoir, watching beauty gurus and news shows on YouTube or reblogging pictures of Ryan Gosling on Tumblr ... call 911 because I'm dead.

I am a junior retail merchandising student pursuing a career in visual merchandising and styling. As business manager of Thread, I have the opportunity to manage finances, maintain relationships with local businesses and student organizations and dabble in just about every other area of the magazine. As far as personal style, the only rule I have is to stay true to your personality and wear what you feel great in. When you feel great, you look great and vice versa. My personal style consists of a lot of black tops and Levi's 511s, which I think is very reflective of my work hard/play hard attitude.
