Hello Lovelies! I’m a senior journalism major and incredibly thrilled to be the Editor in Chief of Thread for 2013-2014. In addition to appreciating and admiring all facets of fashion, I’m a majorly obnoxious foodie who loves to rock black and white color schemes and eat bagels with cream cheese. I love words—writing and speaking them—as well as people. My personal style is a culmination of everything from my hipster Ray-Ban glasses in my attempt to be “cool,” striped pants that resemble Beetlejuice, or pearl jewelry to keep things classic, depending on how much sleep I got the prior night.
Hi Threadies! I'm a senior magazine journalism major specializing in French and women’s and gender studies. I'm way too obsessed with sleeved dresses, high-waisted shorts, floral patterns, polka dots and anything with a feline print (yes, I'm THAT crazy cat lady). When I'm not writing for campus publications, I'm usually perusing fashion blogs, dreaming of baked goods and plotting my return to New York City. Sometimes I wish I were Nancy Drew, but for now I'll settle for stealing her style. Scouring thrift stores is one of my greatest pastimes, and I love reinventing my look. Oh yeah, and Martha Stewart is totally my idol.
Hello! My love for fashion started at a very young age when I refused to wear socks and only wore jelly sandals. As a senior in college, I can proudly say I wear socks now but still love to add some quirk to my style. I have been involved with Thread since my freshman year and it’s been an amazing experience to watch the magazine evolve over the years. With a fierce styling team by my side, we are eager to propel the magazine even farther with our creative energy. While I’m not daydreaming of Thread photo shoots, you can probably find me off on a bike ride or trying out a new recipe—in style of course. It’s going to be a great year for Thread and I hope you come along for the journey!
Hey everyone! I'm Colleen, a senior studying magazine journalism, specializing in history and French. I'm so excited be your Seams editor this year because I love scouring the latest trends in fashion and beauty, whether from the runways, magazines, blogs or just everyday life, to help you make your style more interesting and unique. I would say my wardrobe has a mix of preppy and classic pieces, and if I could live in a Madewell or J.Crew catalog, I would. My favorite items in my closet are black boots, an army green field jacket and the perfect tan leather satchel. When I'm not in fashion-mode, I'm probably running (I covet my Asics as if they were a pair of Louboutain heels) or catching up on my never-ending pile of magazines.
Hi darlings! I’m a senior magazine journalism major specializing in English literature and sociology, and a firm believer that a person can never own too many pairs of boots. Aside from Thread, I balance my time between being Managing Editor for ACRN and dreaming that someday I will in fact have enough time to DIY everything on my Pinterest boards. I’m passionately in love with sweater weather, jewelry, pomegranate tea, traveling, music and staying in on a Friday night to watch a decent horror film. My life goal is to meet David Bowie.

Hello lovely Thread readers! I'm Rachel, a junior studying Magazine Journalism with a double major in Outdoor Recreation. As Who, What Wear Editor, I'm allowed to dabble in a bit of everything, from music to travel, bringing you the very best in culture, clothing and personality each issue. When not writing in my journal, I find time to enjoy the great outdoors, sip tea while reading a good book or daydream about traveling around the world while compulsively checking discount airline sites. I believe fashion should be eclectic: that you should never try to permanently define yourself. This means I own an ever-expanding wardrobe filled with a montage of vintage, classic and H&M pieces from all styles and trends. Though I must admit, it gives me a great excuse to never stop shopping.
I’m a senior majoring in commercial photography with a specialization in French. Fashion and photography are a large part of my life and Thread could not be a more perfect organization to exercise both of these passions. I love being able to collaborate with designers, stylists, and other photographers to create work in which we can all take pride. My personal style changes with each season and I love experimenting with trends both new and old. This will be my fourth year working for Thread and I’m looking forward to making this final year one of the best yet! Outside of Thread I enjoy being on my rollerblades, playing board games, and learning about beer…while also enjoying them.
Hi! I’m a Commercial Photography major in my senior year. I have a passion for post-production editing and retouching and can’t wait to help produce some beautiful images for the magazine this year. With the combination of talent all across the board at Thread this year, I hope to aid in the creation of a visual pleasing and exciting magazine alongside the photography, creative, and design departments. If I’m not behind my Mac doing photo-nerd things, you can find me at the nearest Goodwill hunting for my next wardrobe item. Things I love: spiced chai, New York, homemade tacos, bike rides, Netflix, menswear, The History Channel, and vintage photographs.
Hello Threadies! I’m Rachel, design editor for Thread this year. I am a senior majoring in information design (focusing on publication design) and specializing in marketing and advertising. I love the beach and warm weather, typography, and fashion. I’ve been involved with Thread since my freshman year and can’t get enough of it! I’m so excited for this year. I can’t wait to work with an awesome exec board, all of our returning members, and of course our new members! When it comes to fashion, I tend to have expensive taste, but I’ve become a master at finding amazing sale items. I love to get dressed up and wear one of my many pairs of heels, but I equally love comfy lounge clothes and flip-flops. I have a minor obsession with online shopping but I like to tell myself it’s normal.
Hello! My name is Jordan and I am a junior majoring in interactive multimedia design with a minor in creative writing.I have always been a fan of Thread and am super excited to work with the amazing staff this year! I'm a total city girl and hope to land a career in NYC or Chicago. I travel whenever I can and have studied abroad in Ireland and London. I will be responsible for keeping the website up to date and flawless and teaching other Threadies the wonders of web design. You can find me all over campus working on my freelance web design work or training for my next 10k. I'm the type of girl that prefers tea over coffee and style consists of lace, ripped jeans and matte lipstick. Summer is nice but I prefer the fall. I'm completely open to helping anyone that wants to improve their design skills, so don't be afraid to ask!
Bonjour, Threadies! I am a junior majoring in magazine journalism and minoring in French. Other than devoting my time to Thread, I write for The Athens NEWS and am on the editorial team of ACRN.com. I spent my summer eating macarons and rendezvous-ing at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, while blogging for Lovelyish.com. Other than being a fashion writer and idolizing Audrey Hepburn, I am a total foodie suffering from a major addiction to Gossip Girl (j’adore Chuck Bass). Fashion magazines are my life while Pinterest is my guilty pleasure. You can probably find me sporting head-to-toe J. Crew or Banana Republic, most likely with a coffee and copy of Vogue in hand. When I grow up I plan to be Carrie Bradshaw from Sex & The City, but if that doesn’t pan out, I will be writing for a fashion magazine.
I’m Megan, a junior strategic communications major with a passion for public relations and event planning. In addition to Thread I’m also involved in PRSSA, OU’s student-run PR firm, and Delta Gamma. I live by the words of Kelly Cutrone (If You Have to Cry, Go Outside is the best book EVER) and hope to one day follow in her footsteps by opening my own firm. This summer I interned with a concert promotion company and plan to use the experience I gained to spread the word about Thread on campus and make our release parties the talk of the town!
I am a senior video production major and fine arts minor. During my time at Ohio University, I've worked on music videos, documentaries, shorts, and fashion film. While specializing in commercial photography, I've been able to incorporate different elements into film that transcend multiple platforms. I hope to create fun and visually interesting films for Thread. If you'd like to check out my work outside of Thread visit: mikemytnickfilm.com
Hey! I’ m Sydney, a senior studying journalism with a specialization in retail merchandising and sociology. I love floral prints and flowy skirts. I believe style is way of self-expression and a new pair of shoes can make me happy for a week! My dream job is doing PR for a fashion magazine or clothing company. I enjoy reading my horoscope and am often spilling hot coffee on myself. I am inspired by city life, swing sets, and oversized sweaters. Making up new words & watching cartoons are just a few of my favorite past times but if I were to list more it would be buying unnecessary planners/calendars and dreaming of owning a kitten.
HOLLA! I’m Louis Baragona, a sophomore journalism major with a specialization in sociology. I’ll be serving as the resident grammar queen (insert crown emoji) a.k.a copy chief, making sure all commas are in place, all voices active and all banned words excluded. When I’m not furiously rereading stories in search of errors, I’m attempting to think of clever tweets, harassing my friends, eating incredible amounts of Chipotle or fine tuning my legendary twerking skills. I love fashion and though my personal style can be a bit lackluster (I have trouble getting dressed before noon, I’m only human) I promise Thread Magazine will never disappoint! Read on, Threadies, read on!
