Dear Fellow Students,

I wish a warm welcome to first-year students and a welcome back to those returning as we begin a new academic year.  This year, we will face new challenges and opportunities as we sort out issues of shared governance, budget cuts, diversity, sustainability, academic integrity and communication.  Throughout this process, it is imperative that the Ohio University Student Senate remain in touch with the student body in order to accurately and effectively represent their opinions to the administration and ensure that positive change is created on campus and in the surrounding community.

Student Senate has hit the ground running – we have already begun discussions with the Ohio University administration and faculty, Ohio University Police Department, Athens Police Department, Athens Mayor’s office, State Senator Jimmy Stewart, State Representative Debbie Phillips and the Ohio Student Government Association.  These open lines of communication will be vital for accomplishing our goals for the year.

Ultimately, Student Senate and I are here to serve you, the students.  Should you ever have any question, comment, or concern please come to our office in Baker 305 or call us at (740) 593-4050 and let us know.  Please consult the full list of student senators provided on this website and be informed of who represents you, and we will keep our end of the deal and know who we represent.  This will be a great year, and I look forward to what the future will bring to Ohio University.
