This person also works closely with the design team to create, write and edit marketing and communication collateral. THE COCOPAH RESORT AND CONFERENCE CENTER, in Yuma, Ariz., is accepting applications for a Banquet and Events Coordinator. This person would oversee event planning, promotion and marketing of the resort and the 3,000 square-foot conference center. The position will have the ability to incorporate the other tribal businesses into the event planning, which includes the casino and two golf courses. The Cocopah tribe is working to establish the reservation as a destination market of southwest Arizona and this person will hold a crucial role in this development. The coordinator promotes conference, convention and trade show services by performing tasks such as meeting with professional and trade associations; producing brochures and other publications; establishes and maintains relationships with preferred vendors; compiles estimated cost models, submits final budget, tracks budget statistics and prepares management reports; coordinates services for events such as accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, signage, displays, special needs requirements; coordinates registration and payment procedures, promotional advertising and mailings and corporate sponsorship activities and organizes required catering services and room and communication equipment setup. This position assumes the basic abilities to arrange teleconference calls, compile itineraries of planned meetings or activities, coordinate production of materials, identify problems or improvements, maintain event records, prepare cost estimates, provide customer service and schedule work to meet deadlines.
