The POISEfashion Spring Training Program is your opportunity to become a POISEfashion staffer.
Every year during spring quarter, POISE takes 10 weeks off to rigorously train and prepare potential new POISE staffers for a full-time position as POISEfashion. This is the only time that POISE accepts applications, and staff-members must participate in Spring Training in order to continue to be apart of POISE.

Anyone and everyone who dreams of having a career in the competitive fashion industry should check out Spring Training.
Journalism students who aspire to writing for Vogue; Photography and Art students who aim at becoming the next Andy Warhol and Annie Leibovitz; PR students who look forward to to running their own high society firms; Retail students who fantasize about designing their own fashion week collections; Business students who envision creating the next big marketing and advertising schemes; Web designers who hope to be the next Google guys…
If you have an eye for detail, a competitive edge that sets you apart from the rest, and an insatiable passion for fashion, POISEfashion wants you.

We are Jane-of-all-Trades.
Like most consumer publications, there is a definite divide between the responsibility of editorial (word people) and visual (design people) content, but at POISEfashion, staffers really do a little bit of everything.
The editorial staff consists of editorial assistants, copy editors, fact checkers, researchers and reporters, writers, and editors, while the visual design staff includes photo-assistants, photographers, visual and web designers, and photo editors. We also have PR and advertising/marketing specialists, hair/makeup artists, stylists, fashion analysts, and contributing models, to name a few.
We work in departments, including Fashion, Health, Beauty, Entertainment, and Life&Love, rather than in areas of specialization, so each department has a fair mix of what it takes to survive in the industry. This also provides staffers with the opportunity to contribute to their department as a whole, not just to the individual task they’re assigned. This means that editorial staff attend photo shoots and visual staff help develop content ideas; PR people work with business people, and fashion specialists keep us all up to date. Writers know Photoshop, photographers know AP, and just about everyone knows Dreamweaver.
Not only does this allow us to develop a deeper sense of pride for POISE, but it gives us major props when meeting future employers, as well.

We’ll put you to work in your specified area of interest.
The POISEfashion Spring Training program consists of 10 weeks of rigorous training and fabulous POISE-promoting events. It’s tough, but if you really want POISE, it’s worth it.
Spring Training starts with introductory meetings to help you get a feel for what it means to have and create POISE. These meetings also help direct potential staffers toward their areas of interest, whether it is an editorial assistant or fashion analyst.
Once you know what you want to do, we’ll put you to work. We’re ready with professional lectures, seminars, informational meetings, instructional workshops, and mock assignments that will help you develop the POISE needed to become a full-time staffer. You choose which to attend, from general staff meetings, to area-specific workshops, so that you feel most comfortable with and in charge of your new responsibilities.
Current staffers will help you along the program, ensuring you’re ready for full-time membership. At the commencement of the program, an evaluation of your progress will determine your staffer status.

POISEfashion is not just a magazine - it’s a way of life.
Not just any way of life, POISE is a fabulous way of life, in which the ideals of class, personal style, and social etiquette dominate all else. Staffers don’t just contribute to POISEfashion, they live their lives in a POISEd fashion. They emit confidence, common courtesy, and composure. Staffers are interested in the chic ways of the world; they are individually stylish, compassionate, and informed of the current events of society, whether it is star-gossip or new domestic policy. They aspire to being adventurous and spontaneous. They are 100% genuine, and can fit into any social scene - uptown, downtown, back home, whatever. Having POISE means adopting this mindset; becoming simple, sophisticated, and stylish.
