Ohio Ultimate has been on the cusp of breaking onto the national scene for much of the team's history. Throughout the 1990's the team competed at the regional tournament nearly every year and even won the section before going on to play in the game to go to National's in 1997. More recently, Ohio Ultimate has played many close games with sectional power Ohio State, as well as other top teams in the region and nearly qualified for National's in 2006, finishing 5th in the region and 35th in the nation. There are several former and current players from Ohio Ultimate playing on club teams such as national qualifier Madcow of Columbus, Lake Effect of Cleveland, and Enigma of Dayton. In the past players have played with Big Ass Truck in Michigan and Jawbone in Cleveland. In addition to those teams, Ohio Ultimate has a college-based Club team under the name of A-Block that has developed into a force in the East Plains Section, taking 3rd at last years Club Sectionals.
