Officer Reports
President's: Obi talked about the possibility of entering the Homecoming Parade, but as the application would have been due the Wednesday (the next day) it was decided that we would just join ISU's float in the parade [as a club affiliated with the International Student Union, we can be part of their float]. Obi also brought up the option of us getting involved with charity work. Organizations have been emailing him, asking if they could come in and talk to the club. We didn't decide anything this meeting, but decided to think about it. We did decide to pursue joining/applying to University Program Council which works to inform the Athens community about clubs/organizations on campus.
Tori: Nothing other than she's still working on getting the library sign-out system online.
Hanna: The computer shut down this past Friday night in the middle of Samurai Champloo. In addition, we have been running over a little bit each showing. This is a potential problem because the projectors in Morton are scheduled to shut down at 12:15. We discussed what we could do to avoid this issue in the future. One possibility discussed was limiting AMVs. Hanna also announced that she has enough money to buy a box for The Box (our computer/harddrive that we store many of our AMVs and anime on). In addition, Bueno is helping her burn anime and amvs to put on her computer.
Zabeth: She reported on the status of preparing for the ISU International dinner's meeting for cooks. Unfortunately, ISU thought that emailing people about the time/place of the meeting at 6:30pm the night before was sufficient notice for people to be there. Luckily, she DID check her email in time and showed up to the meeting. JCON represent!
Melissa: She reported on her plans to update the members page on the website. Paper was passed around so members could write down their information to the following questions:
Name:
Year:
Major:
Favorite Japanese stuff:
Favorite Color:
If you missed the meeting, please email her with this information.
Lisa: no secretary's report, but Natalie and Baker (our club ISU representatives) did have something to report. ISU finally has a full/complete executive board. The ISU meeting consisted mostly of the officers "yelling" at the clubs in ISU who did NOT attend the mandatory ISU retreat or send cooks to the ISU dinner-cook meeting. Luckily JCON is on top of things and DID do all those things. Though... I'm sure it was kind of uncomfortable for Baker and Natalie to listen to a reprimand that didn't pertain to them. Volunteers for the ISU dinner should show up at Baker Ballroom at 5:00pm. You know who you are! Also, if you are interested in attending the International dinner (which you should! it's delicious AND fun!), you can purchase tickets in the ISFS office (Baker Center room 346) or in front of Baker Center (there will be a table set up outside with someone selling tickets. Most likely 10-3:00. If you can't find the tickets and are interested in attending, please contact Lisa (me) and I'll give you better directions to the ISFS office or... possibly even pick up tickets for you!.

Saturday Showing:
Every quarter we have a Saturday showing. In Fall Quarter we have a Halloween showing which includes an activity room in addition to 1-2 showing rooms. We usually theme the showing rooms and then nominate animes that fit into those themes. Some common themes have been: Mystery Science Theater 3000 (you get to make fun of/yell at/cheer for the anime you are watching), Violets/Violence (gloriously gorey and supper sappy animes are shown, enjoy the contrast!), Mind Fuck (choose animes, Japanese movies, etc that screw with your mind/emotions), and more! So... come to the next meeting with themes in mind! Remember, you need to pick a theme that people will be able to think of things to nominate for. Feel free to give a room two themes (like Violet/Violence). We decided on Oct 24th for this year's Fall Quarter Saturday Showing. It's Parent's weekend, so feel free to bring your folks!

QnA2k:
Email Hanna pictures for the Membership Cards she will be making. Or, just stay after one of the Tuesday meetings and she'll take your picture!
Also, Hanna is accepting t-shirt designs for our "Club t-shirt design" contest. Email her for details! (Remember, officer emails can be found on the website and often through Facebook as well.)

Round Table:
Zabeth's inviting people to join her at BWs this Wednesday (today) to celebrate her birthday. Just show up and look for your fellow club members! :)

Jon Maple motioned to adjourn. Bueno seconded.
