    Membership

    Become a member of OU Habitat today! Fill out the Membership Form and bring it to the next meeting with some money for dues, which is usually around $10.

    There are three levels of membership in the Ohio University Student Chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Any student currently enrolled at Ohio University is eligible for membership, following the guidelines listed below. New membership is welcome and encouraged anytime throughout the year. Membership is determined on a quarter-to-quarter basis and membership must be renewed each quarter. To be considered a member for a given quarter, all criteria must be met by the last general meeting of the given quarter.

    Benefits of membership include an award certificate, permanent inclusion on the list of members at the bottom of this page, and priority consideration in signing up for various volunteer opportunities and activities.

    Membership Points

    Membership status is now based upon an accumulation of points. Points are earned through a variety of means listed below:

    • General meeting attendance – 1 point
    • Each one hour activity (fundraising, volunteering, etc.) – 2 points
    • Each activity for more than one hour – 3 points
    • Donations of $10 - $20 dollars – 2 points
    • Donations of $20+ dollars – 4 points

    Membership Levels

    Level One: Bronze Nut

    An individual who has obtained the designation of Bronze Nut has showed interest in the organization and in becoming more involved.

    Criteria:

    • Complete and Submit a Membership Application Form

    Level Two:  Silver Hammer

    The distinction of Silver Hammer indicates an individual has participated in the organization in several areas.

    Criteria:

    • Complete and Submit a Membership Application Form
    • 10 Points
    • Turn in Dues of $5/Qtr or $10/Yr

    Level Three:  Gold Power Saw

    A Gold Power Saw distinction, the highest level of membership, is reserved for individuals who have proven dedication to the organization in a variety of aspects.

    Criteria:

    • Complete and Submit a Membership Application Form
    • Turn in Dues of $5/Qtr or $10/Yr
