The Ohio University Student Chapter of Habitat for Humanity is a student-lead organization working to eliminate substandard housing and to contribute to a better community through service.
As part of the Athens County Habitat for Humanity, the student chapter has three primary functions:
Help build local “Habitat” houses
Provide volunteer service for community and university organizations
Raise monetary funds
Meetings are held weekly at 7:00 pm on Mondays in Bentley Hall, Room #306 .These meetings usually last between 15-20 minutes. Meeting attendance is not mandatory but is encouraged. This time is used to discuss and plan current and upcoming volunteer opportunities, fundraisers and events.
There are three levels of membership, which are described in the “Membership” section of this website. New members are welcome at any time throughout the academic school year. Members receive priority consideration when filling limited volunteer positions.
