Article
I. Name
The name of this organization shall be O.U. E.F.A. (European Friends Association).
Article II. Purpose
The purpose of O.U. E.F.A. shall be:
a) to gather all of the OU European students in order to:
(i) create strong friendships that will last after graduation in a united Europe,
(ii) organize recreational activities,
(iii) travel in the United States and learn the American culture;
b) to welcome other OU students that are interested in:
(i) learning about European cultures,
(ii) sharing their culture with us.
The members of this association shall consist of OU students that are:
a) currently enrolled with a minimum 2.0 GPA;
b) agree to follow this constitution;
c) represent the association with pride and integrity.
Note: Any member that does not abide by the previous rules or does not participate in three successive regular meetings will no longer be allowed to take part in E.F.A functions.
Article IV. Officers
Section I. Executive Committee
The Executive Committee shall consist of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Selection of officers shall be done by members of O.U. E.F.A.. ( Method: 50%+1 of the votes, time and place of election will always be announced two weeks prior).
The term of each office shall be one year.
Section IV. Vacancies
If vacancy of an officer’s position should arise, then an election will take place to replace the position ( same method as above).
Article V. Meetings
Regular meetings shall be held every two weeks. ( Day, time, place will be announced by e-mail,a week prior).
Section II. Special Meetings
Special meetings shall be held before special association events.
Article VI. Amendments
This constitution may be amended by 75% of the E.F.A. participants in a regular meeting. The quorum for a regular meeting is fixed at 15%.
By-Laws
Article I. Dues
Dues for the E.F.A. shall be $10.
Article II. Duties of Members
Section I. Duties of Officers
The president shall coordinate the O.U. E.F.A. activities:
a) ensures the rights of the constitution;
b) represents ( or sends a representative) to official meetings;
c) cooperates with the subcommittees of the association;
d) informs the members:
(i) of new information received,
(ii) official obligations,
(iii) preparation of special events,
e) announces special meetings.
The Vice-President shall:
a) share the responsibilities of the president;
b) replace the president in his/her absence.
The Secretary shall:
a) write the summary of every meeting;
b) keep files of the association.
The Treasurer shall:
a) complete the proposal for funding;
b) keep money and receipts of all activities of the association.
Article III. Advisor
The advisor shall be chosen by the executive committee.
Should the advisor’s position become vacant during the year, the executive committee will select a new advisor.
Article IV. Committees
Section I. Permanent Committees
All permanent committees shall be confirmed by election ( same method as above).
All ad-hoc committees shall be confirmed by election ( same method as above)
The O.U. E.F.A. shall be governed by the OU Friends of Europe Parliamentary Procedures.
Article VI. Amendments
These laws may be amended by 75% of the E.F.A participants in a regular meeting. The quorum for a regular meeting is fixed at 15%.
