OUET Wins 2008-2009 Regional Title

The Ohio University Hunt Equestrian Team claimed the regional title for the third consecutive year in Zone 6 Region 1. OUET placed first with 300 points, with Lake Erie College placing second with 276 points.

Team members can also qualify as individuals by accumulating enough points throughout the season in their respected divisions. Those that qualified are Lisa Bernheim (Walk Trot); Kari Besler (Walk Trot Canter); Sarah-Jo Adamson, Rosemary Fleming, Lauren Huefner, Brittany Smith, Rebecca Milton, and Jill Weiner (Novice Flat); Brittany Smith (Novice Fences); Colleen Boyle and Jessa Moser (Intermediate Flat and Fences); and Kati Cibon (Open Flat and Fences)

Kati Cibon also won the prestigious title for the fourth consecutive year as Cacchione Rider. To qualify, the rider must be in the Open Division, and accumulate the most points throughout the season. This is an automatic trip to Nationals where she competed with the top 35 other riders throughout the country.
