Welcome back everyone! Believe that everyone enjoyed the holiday season with your friends or families! Editors are very sorry for the long break of the Newsletter! We'll try our best to fill in the miss in the past weeks. 
This is the first issue of the Newsletter in the new year! The Newsletter includes Pastor Hixson's message on Friday night, sharing, etc. If you would like contribute your experiences walking with God, please email us at oucbsg@hotmail.com

1. Notes of Pastor's message
In this issue, there is only the topics and general outline of Pastor's message listed. Because editor took personal leave during the last two months, there are many missing in the notes. If you are interested in Pastor's message, the recording tapes are available in CBS.

2. Articles Wanted!!
Please email us (oucbsg@hotmail.com) your testimony, sharing, story or information in experiencing God! Especially for the alumnus and alumnae of CBSG, we would like to hear your testimony or sharing in Him!! Any suggestions or opinions about our Bible Study Group or Newsletter are welcomed!

3. Bible Class for Children on Friday night 
The Chinese Bible Study is pleased to announce a new Bible Class for Children.  The class will be conducted Friday night concurrently with the adults' class.  Praise the Lord for this new ministry and for the b rothers and sisters who are willing to help and serve.  Please pray for this new ministry as well as the participating teachers and children.  May God use this class to touch the souls of many youngsters.

Thank God for Linda Hixson.  She has kindly offered to help starting the class and train teachers.  For those of you who would like to help in this ministry and receive teachers' training, please contact with Yin ing for more information. In addition, if you know any children who would like to attend the class, please feel free to invite them and their parents.

November 23, 2001 (Thanksgiving & Revelation)
The Story of Thanksgiving

Background of the book of Revelation
John wrote to the seven churches, which located in a circle in Turkey. 
Chapter 1 John was pre pared. John saw Jesus.
Chapter 2 & 3 Christian (readers) in the church were prepared. Describe 7 churches, and what is going on over there.
Chapter 4 move into the future.
Revelation 1:19 is the key/outline that helps us to understand the book of Revelation. 
There are 3 division of this book. 1. what you have. 2 what is now (John's days). 3. what will take place later (future)
Chapter 4 gives us a clue. From chapter 4 to 22 is the third division, future stuff.  < br> 

December 14, 2001 (Hebrew Chapter 2 & Revelation)
Question: What is Hebrew doing? Encourage Christians, stay with Jesus, be out of temptation, go on being a Christian, & continue faith in Lord.

Jesus greater than Moses
To Jewish nation, Moses was the most important man.

Mos es was faithful as a servant.
Jesus was faithful as a Son.
John 1:1 "the word of God", "the son of God", & "the lamb of God" is the same person.

January 4, 2002 (Hebrew Chapter 5 & Revelation Chapter 2)
Hebrew chapter 5
Priest presented God. 
"Sin of omission" is not to do something that we should do. 
"Sin of commission" is to do something that we shoul dn't do. 
Leviticus is about all old Testament priests & their sacrifice.
Hebrew is about all New Testament priests & their sacrifice. 
see Leviticus 16:3-15 about the animal sacrifice.
In order to thoroughly study the book of Hebrew, we should thoroughly study the book of Leviticus. 
Hebrew 5:11-14 Although not every Christian should be a priest, these verses encourage every Christian keep growing spiritually.

Revelation Chapter 2
Ephesus Ch urch is the mother church of the rest. It was a working and serving church but the love in the beginning has gone (2:4). In verse 5, it is sin of omission.
Smyrna was located in the north of Ephesus church. It was a most beautiful city in that part of world. Both churches have nothing bad to say except spiritually poor. 
In Revelation chapter 1, the write, John, was prepared. In chapter 2 and 3, the readers are prepared for the following chapters, the future.
