All Templeton Scholars Program Application materials must be submitted to the OMSAR Office no later than February 1, 2013. Be sure you have applied to OU before this deadline.

 

We prefer that you use the online submission forms below, but you may also submit the required information by mail. Click to get copies of the mail-in Submission Guidelines and Personal Profile Form. To request that copies of these documents be mailed to you, contact the OMSAR Office at diversity@ohio.edu.

 

About the Selection Process

 

All candidates for the Templeton Scholars Award will be evaluated based on:

 

1) their academic credentials,
2) two written essays,
3) two recommendation letters, and
4) personal interviews.

 

The evaluation and final decisions will be made by the Templeton Scholars Selection Committee. You will be notified should you be selected as a Templeton Scholar.

 

Step One—Personal Profile

Step Two—Essays

 

You will submit two essays:

 

• Click here to fill out the Short Essay (250 Words).
• Click here to fill out the Long Essay (500 Words).

 

It is recommended that you type these essays in another text-editing program, then copy and paste them into the appropriate form in your browser when submitting. This will help prevent any time-out issues when using the above forms.

 

Step Three: Recommendation Letters

 

You will also submit two letters of recommendation from:

1) a teacher; and
2) a school counselor, club advisor, or community leader.

 

The letters should support your application to the scholarship program and provide the committee with insights regarding your academic achievement, leadership, and community service experiences and plans. NOTE: Recommendation letters from relatives or friends will not be accepted.

Step Four: Submission Deadline & Interview

 

Application materials are due no later than February 1, 2013. Early submissions are strongly encouraged: no late submissions will be accepted.

 

Be sure to apply to Ohio University before February 1, as applicants must be accepted to OU for consideration.

 

The OMSAR Office will contact eligible applicants in order to schedule an interview date.
