Mobile devices
iPhone and iPad set-up steps:
- Tap the settings icon on your iPhone
- Tap the Wi-Fi
- Slide the Wi-Fi to ON
- Tap on "OHIO University" (The legacy wireless is named "Ohio University" while the NextGen wireless is named "OHIO University".Capitalization matters.)
- A dialog box will pop up with a choice for Username and Password please enter your OHIO ID and password
- Tap join
- If you receive a security warning asking you to "Continue" or "Cancel," make sure that the certificate in the dialog box says, "securelogin.oit.ohio.edu, AddTrust External CA Root," then tap "Continue."If you see a different certificate name, then tap "Cancel" and contact OIT security at 740-566-SAFE.
- Tap accept
- Now you are back to the Wi-Fi Networks screen and now you have a check mark next to "OHIO University" SSID name
- You are now set-up with WPA2 Enterprise security. When you come in contact with the new wireless SSID name "OHIO University" your iPhone will connect automatically and you will not have to log-in again nor will you have to trust the certificate
- Enjoy the new NextGen wireless
Android OS set-up steps:
- Tap the wireless fan icon
- Tap the Internet connection
- Tap the Wi-Fi
- Tap on "OHIO University" (The legacy wireless is named "Ohio University" while the NextGen wireless is named "OHIO University".Capitalization matters.)
- Dialog box will ask you for profile credentials. (this is a droid phone setting for your new profile, you can use any password you like to use and then confirm the password.
- Click OK
- You will have to type your OHIO ID and password, username name is called Identity
- You will have to scroll down to get to where you type in your password
- Tap connect
- Screen will now be back to the Wi-Fi settings page, wait for the SSID name "OHIO University" to say connected
- Enjoy the new NextGen wireless
