Mac wireless set-up

 

Macs joined to AD (Active Directory):

  1. Enable your device's WiFi.
  2. From the Finder, click your Mac's wireless icon.
  3. Click on the "OHIO University" SSID name.
  4. If you receive a security warning asking you to "Continue" or "Cancel," make sure that the certificate in the dialog box says, "securelogin.oit.ohio.edu, AddTrust External CA Root." If it does, then click "Continue." If you see a different certificate name, then click "Cancel" and contact OIT security at 740-566-SAFE.
  5. Click Continue.
  6. If asked for your password again, type in your password.
  7. Enjoy the NextGen wireless!

 

 Macs not joined to AD (Active Directory):

  1. Enable your device's WiFi.
  2. From the Finder, click your Mac's wireless icon.
  3. Click on the "OHIO University" SSID name.
  4. Now type your OHIO ID and password click continue.
  5. If you receive a security warning asking you to "Continue" or "Cancel," make sure that the certificate in the dialog box says, "securelogin.oit.ohio.edu, AddTrust External CA Root." If it does, then click "Continue." If you see a different certificate name, then click "Cancel" and contact OIT security at 740-566-SAFE.
  6. Type in your password for your local user account.
  7. Make sure the 802.1x box says "automatic."
  8. To enable automatic logins, check "remember this network."
  9. Click Ok.
  10. Enjoy the NextGen wireless!
