This page is out of date -- the process it describes is based on features of the old eDirectory, which has been retired and decommissioned. When functional replacements for those features are in place, we will update this page accordingly. In the meantime, we leave it in place to make it easier when that time comes.
Go to http://www.ohio.edu/oit/help/howtochange.cfm; that will open in a new window, in order for you to keep these instructions available as you proceed.
Click on "URL" to use the self-service application.
Login with your Ohio ID and password.
Click to select "Homepage URL" and then click on the "Modify Attribute" button.
Specify your new people2 address, starting with "http://www.ohio.edu/people/" (but without the quotes).
Click on the "Confirm Change" button when ready.
Go to http://eDirectory.ohio.edu/; that will open in a new window, in order for you to keep these instructions available as you proceed.
Search for yourself; if necessary, click to see your detailed listing.
Observe that the URL link is present (it will be near the bottom of your detailed listing).
Follow it, to experimentally confirm that it functions correctly; if not, go back to step 1, above.
Examine your automatic e-mail signature, if you have one:
If it has an outdated URL, update it.
If it has no URL, consider adding your new home page.
Do this for all of your e-mail environments.
