Voicemail Quick Reference

Logging into the voicemail system

Office Telephone: From your office phone dial 3-2255 or press the "message waiting" light if you have a digital phone. When prompted enter your security code.

On-Campus: From an on-campus phone dial 3-2255. If prompted for a security code press *, then press #; and enter your 5-digit mailbox and security code. If you are not prompted for a security code please press # and enter your 5-digit mailbox number and security code.

Off-Campus: From off-campus dial (740) 593-2255. When you hear the system greeting press # and enter your 5-digit mailbox number and security code.

Main Voicemail Menu Options

Listen to a new message: 1
Listen to a saved message: 5
Listen to a deleted message: 7 (This works only at the time of message deletion. Once you hang up, the message cannot be recovered.)
Send a message: 2

Record your name from the phone

Call and access your voicemail mailbox.

To record your name:

From main menu press 3, 1 , 5

Record your standard greeting from the phone

Call and access your voicemail mailbox.

To record your standard greeting do the following:

From the main menu press 3, 4.

Record your Busy greeting from the phone

Call and access your voicemail mailbox.

To record your Busy greeting do the following:

From main menu press 3, 5

Record your Out-of-Office greeting from the phone

Call and access your voicemail mailbox.

To record your Out-of-Office greeting do the following:

From main menu press 3, 6

Change your security code from the phone

Call and access your voicemail mailbox.

To change your voicemail security code:

From the main menu press 3, 1, 4

Security code must be between 6 and 15 numerical digits.

Change your security code within Web PhoneManager

Sign into Web PhoneManager, click the "Personal Settings" option on the left and then you will see the "Security Code" tab appear across the top.  You can enter the new credentials here.

Web PhoneManager to setup voicemail to email delivery

If you want to setup to have voicemail deliver a copy of the voicemail to your inbox please follow the instructions below. Note: This only delivers a copy of the message via .wav file attachement to your email. If you want to delete the message you will need to call into the voicemail system and delete it or go into Web PhoneManager and delete it from the inbox.

In the left hand menu select the "Notification Settings" then click the "Email" tab.

Check the "Enable Simple UM Notification" checkbox under Simple UM Messaging

Enter in your email address you would like the voicemail to be sent to. If you want your voicemail to be sent to multiple addresses, please place a comma between each email address.

Click the "OK" button to save your settings..

Web PhoneManager to setup voicemail notification via SMS

If you would like to be notified when you receive a voicemail message via SMS to your cell phone or email address please do the following. Note: This just sends a SMS notification that you have received a new voicemail.

Log into Web PhoneManager (WPM) with your mailbox number and security code. https://webphonemgr.oit.ohio.edu/wpm

In the left hand menu select the "Notification Settings" then click the "SMS" tab.

Click the checkmark box labeled "Enable Short Message Service (SMS)"

Choose the SMS Provider "SMS Delivery" from the drop down menu.

Set your Notification Status to either "Urgent" or "All". Urgent will only notify you of messages marked Urgent, and All will notify you of the arrival of all voicemails.

Check "Include Voice Msgs" checkmark box under Message Types

Under Time, adjust the times and dates that you want the voicemail system to notifiy you via SMS. Default is Monday-Friday 24 hrs a day. The default settings will not notify you on Saturday or Sunday.

Under the Contact Details do not enter your mobile phone number. Instead, enter the email address for your mobile phone. You can generally find this information from your provider. Some common providers are listed below.
Ex. If your phone number is (555) 555-5555. Then your email is:

Click "OK" to save your settings.

Web PhoneManager to setup voicemail to Automatic Message Forward (Auto Copy)

Automatic Message Forwarding (Auto Copy) is feature that passes copies of your incoming messages to another mailbox as soon as you receive the messages.

Log into Web PhoneManager (WPM) with your mailbox number and security code. https://webphonemgr.oit.ohio.edu/wpm

In the left hand menu select the "Notification Settings" then click the "Forwarding" tab.

Check the "Enable Automatic Message Forwarding" check box.

Next to the "Forward To:" either enter in the mailbox you want have the message copied to or click the directory button to the right of the box to find the mailbox by name.

Under Options choose the Notify Status to be either "Urgent" or "All".

If you want to only forward the message if it comes a specific caller choose this under the "Forward Specific ID:" and type the mailbox or find it by the directory button to the right.

Check mark the box "Include Voice Msgs"

Under Time, you may define the time and days that Automatic Message Forwarding is active.

Click "OK" to save your settings.

Web PhoneManager to setup voicemail to have a Personal Operator (Personal Assistant)

When a caller is sent to a subscriber mailbox, the caller always has at least two choices: leave a voice message or press zero to transfer to an operator. You can ensure that all callers who press zero in this mailbox go to the same operator extension by typing that extension in the Personal Operator box.

In the left hand menu select the "Personal Settings" then click the "Phone Numbers" tab.

At the bottom of the page next to "Personal Operator:" enter the extension you want your callers to go if they press "0" during your greeting.

Click "OK" to save your settings

You will need to record your greeting to say to press "0" to reach your personal operator.

Setup voicemail for Find Me

To setup the Find Me feature (ex. Press 1 to call my cell, press 2 to call my home, etc.) you will need to contact OIT to have this setup.
