Test Score at Ohio University

New scanning system and report format for summer 2012

The Test Score Office is replacing its scanner and scanning software. The new system will go into production for summer 2012.

Standard bubble sheets will work with the new system, and the basic process for submitting tests for grading will not change.

Users will need to be aware of just two changes:
1.Test takers will need to remember to fill out a blank oval to separate their first and last names.
2.Instructors will receive results in electronic form only.

The system offers multiple electronic formats, including PDF, Excel, and Access.Instructors who submit items for grading before the end of spring 2012 will receive both an old style report and a new report, so they can compare the two. Starting summer 2012, only the new style reports will be available.

Contact Test Score Office at (740)593-1010 or testscore@ohio.edu for additional questions.

Mainframe-based test scoring services available through spring 2012

The Test Score Office provides optical scanning on an NCS OpScan 10 Scanner. This scanner is capable of reading both Reflex and Trans Optic forms. Scanned data is processed using the Test Score item analysis program, or raw data can be delivered to accounts on the OUACCVMB and OAK host systems.

Primary services provided are for examinations, course evaluations, and statistical analysis of survey results. Assistance is also available for the design of customized scanner sheets. If you are a faculty member or instructor and would like to have your exams scored through our office, please stop by so that we can assist you with this process.

The Test Score office will neither accept nor scan any data sheets that include Social Security numbers as student or subject identifiers.  As an alternative mechanism for identifying students and subjects, please use the nine digits of the student PID -- including the initial "000" or "001" -- which is guaranteed to be unique.
