Operating System software. NOTE:  The terms of the Microsoft agreement require the university and individuals to purchase the OS when you buy a new computer. The Microsoft agreement covers upgrades only.

Version Available Through OU's Microsoft Agreement:
Vista Enterprise = university-owned machines
Vista Ultimate = university-owned machines (limited quantities)

How To Acquire:

Departmental Copies for University-Owned Machines:

DVDs can be used for installation of the software on Ohio University-owned computers only.  There is no departmental charge for the license. The license has been paid for by OIT. DVDs are $10 per set. 

Athens Campus - The Technology Depot needs an departmental account number to process the order.  Visit the Technology Depot or

Note:  If you place an order and elect to pick-up the software at the Tech Depot, you will receive an e-mail from sitelicenses@ohio.edu when your order is ready.

Regional Campus - Departments can contact the library located on their regional campus, except at the Southern (from Computer Services) & Zanesville (from Help Desk, Elson Hall Room 102). DVDs can be used for installation of the software on Ohio University-owned computers only.

Students - How To Obtain Software:
