Faculty Showcase: iPads in the Classroom

Friday, August 5, 2011
Joyice Childs

iPads in the ClassroomAcademic Technologies’ Faculty Showcases will focus on the use of technology for enhancing teaching and learning at Ohio University.  There will be a series of events throughout the year, coordinated by Academic Technologies.

The first in the series of Faculty Showcases will be the iPad Pilot Project.  Dr. Eugene Geist, Associate Professor in Teacher Education, will discuss how iPads can be used in the classroom and how students and instructors can adapt to mobile learning.  He will discuss his experience with a Pilot Program in one of his curriculum development classes.

Dr. Eugene GeistBooks and lectures are still the dominant tools of the trade in the classroom; however, there is a push to adjust the pedagogy to meet the needs of an increasingly mobile generation.   How well does the iPad meet these needs?  Please join us as Dr. Geist shares his observations.

Date, Time and Location

August 18, 12:10-1:00 pm (bring your lunch!)
