Data Center HVAC work scheduled for Dec 28

Monday, December 26, 2011
Sean O'Malley

Contractors will be working on the systems that provide heating and cooling for the building that houses the university's data center on Wednesday, December 28 from 7:30 am until approximately 4:00 pm.

Steps are being taken to minimize the effects of this work on university systems; however, it is possible that some or all of the university's central online services may need to be shut down on the 28th.

As long as temperatures in the data center remain within acceptable ranges, all systems will remain on line.

If conditions require a partial shutdown, OIT will attempt to keep the following systems up:

  • Blackboard
  • PeopleSoft SIS
  • OHIO Front Door web server
  • E-mail
  • Oracle FMS

If a full shutdown is required, all systems except Catmail (which is hosted outside of the university) will be unavailable. Should this happen, updates will be posted to the @OhioIT Twitter feed.

If you have any questions, please contact the OIT Service Desk at 740-593-1222.
