Blackboard Support recommends the following minimum hardware and software requirements in order to access classes on Blackboard.  Please note that Blackboard users must have Administrator access to their computers to install programs and use Blackboard

Internet Connection Cable, DSL, Satellite, Cellular 4G, Campus LAN, or Campus Wireless with a minimum download speed of 1.5 Mbps Cable, DSL, or Campus LAN with a minimum download speed of 3.0 Mbps

Students and faculty can use the browser checker to check their web browser to ensure that all required plugins for Blackboard are enabled and up to date.

Microsoft Office is required to create and open most assignments in Blackboard. The Bobcat Depot carries Microsoft Office and is able to ship software to students. (Note: OpenOffice and Google Docs are not supported by Blackboard.)

Please note that loaned (work or business) computers and public computers are often secured from downloading files and installing programs and cannot be supported.

System Status

The Blackboard system is functioning as expected.

Blackboard will be unavailable from 3 AM to 7 AM on Saturday, April 4 for scheduled system maintenance. Please plan grade related work accordingly.

Blackboard Upgrade

Blackboard is scheduled to be upgraded to the October 2014 release during the annual upgrade window, which falls between 5 PM on Wednesday, May 6 and 5 PM Sunday, May 10 this year.  Please note that Blackboard will be down during this time period. See the Bb Upgrade page for additional information.
