The Office of Information Technology installs, maintains and supports classroom technology packages in all centrally scheduled classrooms on the Athens campus. Technicians are available during the summer from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday to assist instructors, repair equipment, and fulfill requests for additional equipment. Specific equipment varies from room to room.

PowerPoint: Turning the Maligned Medium into Effective Media
What is PowerPoint and how can it be used to effectively engage your audience? Join Academic Technologies on Monday, April 20 from 12noon-1pm in Friends of the Library Room, Alden 319 for information on how to use Mayer’s 12 Principles of Multimedia Learning. The presentation explores research-based methods for enhancing both your message and student learning through developing a presentation as a piece of rich media.
Design Studio for Blended and Online Courses
Are you looking for the time and resources you need to design or redesign a blended or online
course? Academic Technologies is accepting applications for an intensive Design Studio to be
conducted from May 11-15, 2015; 9am-4pm. The studio is a week long opportunity that is intended to
provide participants with a tangible and implementable outcome. During the week, participants will
be provided hands-on structured workshop sessions, individual assistance, group discussion, and
sharing opportunities. Academic Technologies will provide daily consultation and technical
assistance to help complete your course (re)design.
All interested faculty are encouraged to apply. Participation is limited to 15 faculty members. To
