Upcoming Faculty Events

TBL 101 - Team Based Learning - Faculty Showcase

Academic Technologies is hosting a Fall Team Based Learning Faculty Showcase on October 24 from 10am-12:00pm in Alden 319 (Friends of the Library Room). Dr. Raymond Frost from the College of Business will be facilitating this interactive session.

Team Based Learning (TBL) is a methodology developed and refined by Larry Michaelsen over 35 years. It is the original flipped classroom methodology. TBL focuses on how to innovatively structure class time and activities to promote student learning. Participants in this workshop will learn about TBL by doing TBL. In my 20+ years of teaching this is the single most important pedagogy that I have seen. - Dr. Raymond Frost

Narratives & Online Design

Ever find that students have trouble remembering some concepts taught in class last week, but can easily tell their friends a detailed story about something that happened months ago? Join Academic Technologies on Thursday, October 30 from 2pm-3pm in Alden 301U for an informal look at why narrative structures are so effective and how to incorporate storytelling elements into your online course design.
