We're Changing Things
An all-new approach to Ohio Today Online is in the works. It will include Web-exclusive stories about alumni, faculty and students; information that dovetails with the print magazine; some fun features such as trivia games and polls; and other items.
As we gear up for the improved site, which we hope to introduce in the coming months, we've decided to share a few extras tied to the winter 2003 print edition rather than duplicate it as we've done in the past.
First, see our cover story about the University's new Life Sciences Building. You'll be amazed at the research and findings of our faculty. We also give you an up-close and personal look at Ohio University's favorite personality, the Bobcat. Today's students show you the day-to-day life of the University mascot, while your fellow alumni have some amusing memories of the Bobcat's antics since its very beginning in 1960. And be sure to read about some of the plans for the bicentennial celebration, which kicks off this fall and runs through mid-2004. You'll also want to check out the story and photo gallery on the women's soccer team, which posted a great season this past fall.
You'll also see changes in our In Memoriam section, where we're giving you more details than you'll find in our print edition.
Finally, you have been so enthusiastic in writing to share your memories and comment on our stories that we've added a letters to the editor section to the Web site. We've included the full versions of letters that had to be edited for space in the print version as well as some letters that just didn't fit in print.
One final note: We're very open to your suggestions for our online venture. Please send us an e-mail at email@example.com or give us a call at (740) 593-1891 or (740) 593-1890 to let us know what you'd like to find at Ohio Today Online.
