The Ohio University women's swimming and diving team received the National Alumni Board Award for Team Excellence from the Alumni Association Jan. 22 at halftime of the Bobcat-Toledo men's basketball game in the Convocation Center.
Head Coach Greg Werner and members of last year's team were on hand to accept the award for best performance athletically, academically and in community service. The t eam finished second in the Mid-American Conference in 1996, maintained a collective grade point average above 3.0, participated in the Hocking River environmental cleanup community project, and served as volunteers for the Athens Criterium bike race.
The award was based on performance in the 1995-96 academic year.
