2000s Melissa Hillengas, BCJ '00, recently completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C., and was promoted to the rank of private first class. Beth Short, MBA '00, was named media relations director for the American Cancer Society, Ohio Division. She manages communications efforts aimed at educating Ohioans about the programs and services supported by the society. She and her husband, John Besch, reside in Grandview Heights, Ohio. Lisa Marie Ambrogio, BBA '01, of Chester, Ohio, was appointed staff accountant in the accounting and auditing department of Ciuni & Panichi Inc. Jeffrey Blevins, PHD '01, is an assistant professor in the broadcast and cinematic arts department of Central Michigan University. He and his wife, Melissa, reside in Mount Pleasant, Mich. Julie First, BSC '01, joined the Chicago headquarters of Sheldon Good & Co. LLC as a project administrator. She previously conducted a research campaign for the Athens Chapter of the American Red Cross and served as an officer of several honors fraternities at Ohio University. She lives in the Lakeview, Ill., area. Laura Geller, BA '01, of Canfield, Ohio, is serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in Penza, Russia. Cecilie Gerlach, BA '01, has enrolled in the Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles. She is a resident of Westerville, Ohio. Merilee Miller, BSHC '01, recently was appointed business development manager at Retail Planning Associates' world headquarters in Columbus. Sarah Morris, BSH '01, works in outcomes research for the department of quality management at the Cleveland Clinic. Jeremy Neuhart, BSJ '01, is the corporate communications project coordinator at the International Truck & Engine Corp. in Chicago. Leila Keister Sprague, BSHC '01, married Darold Sprague, BHSC '01, on Sept. 8. The couple lives in Athens. Leila Sprague plans to begin work on an MBA at Ohio University in June 2003; Darold Sprague is assistant director of annual giving at the University. Patricia Miller Wetzel, BSCE '01, completed a co-op with and now is employed by the Ohio Department of Transportation's Chillicothe division as a transportation engineer.
