Remember when the Graffiti Wall was your billboard? Now you can have your own piece of it. Students are working to help fund a new student center by selling pieces of the wall, which is being replaced with a new version as part of a Bentley Hall renovation and addition project. Mounted on green tile, pieces of the wall are available for a suggested minimum donation of $50 for alumni. The pieces come with a certificate of authenticity and brief history of the wall. For more information, e-mail the Student Campaign Advancement Committee at ouproud@ohio.edu; call the Dean of Students Office at (740) 593-1800; or visit www.ohiou.edu/ouproud/wall.html. The new wall, made of poured concrete in a size comparable to the former wall, is expected to be complete by August 2003.
The Alumni Association has named top chapters and societies for 2001-02. Singled out as the Most Improved Society was the Marching Band Society of Alumni and Friends for innovative programs and strong participation. The Greater Cincinnati Chapter took Best Chapter Program honors for its annual Reds vs. Indians game to benefit scholarships. Chapter of the Year Awards went to the Ohio University Women's Club of Cleveland, recognized for extensive programming and scholarship efforts, and the Greater Charlotte Chapter, commended for involvement with students, a new e-mail discussion list and establishment of an endowment.
