2. Built in 1965, it was Crook Hall, a dormitory. It was renovated and rededicated in 1986 when renamed for the late C. Paul Stocker, BSEE '26 and HON '74, and his wife, Beth Kilpatrick Stocker, BS '28 and HON '03, supporters of the Russ College of Engineering and Technology.

4. Chubb and Scripps Halls. Carnegie Library (now Scripps Hall) opened in 1905 for university and Athens communities. Edwin Watts Chubb Library (now Chubb Hall) opened in 1931 with approximately 75,000 volumes. 5. Newman, nicknamed "the Worldwalker," in the 1980s was the first person to walk around the world solo.
