Gerald Franti, MM '80, of Burnsville, Minn., recently began working in the international travel field at Group Travel Directors of Minneapolis after teaching secondary band and orchestra for 20 years.

Daniel Gattermeyer, AB '80, served as Butler County (Ohio) prosecuting attorney from August 2000 to January 2001 and was elected chairman of the Butler County Democratic Party in December 2000.

Lea Durante Travis, BSED '80, is principal of Carylwood Intermediate School in Bedford, Ohio. She and her husband, Terry, live in Sagamore Hills, Ohio.

Bret Adams, AB '81, is an attorney at Buckingham, Doolittle & Burroughs Adams in Columbus.

Herb Aldrich, BBA '81, is regional credit manager for tire operations at Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. in Findlay, Ohio.

Randy Howell, BS '81, is a software consultant at Axiom Ltd. in Columbus. He and his wife, Jennifer Sheehan Howell, BSJ '82, have two children and live in New Albany, Ohio.

James Pecorelli, BSIT '81, general manager of power transmission for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Lincoln, Neb., received the Outstanding Industrial Technologist Award at a recent National Association of Industrial Technology convention.

Christine Masson, BS '82, is director of multicast and broadband services at Maryland Public Television in Owings Mills, Md.

David Phillippi, AAS '82, BSC '84, of Cincinnati served as key second assistant director for the Warner Bros. movie "Summer Catch," which opened Aug. 24.

Susan Birch Frady, BA '83, recently developed the firm Global Solutions Centre Inc. She and her husband, Todd, live in Severna Park, Md.

Carlos Calle, PHD '84, is a senior research scientist at NASA Kennedy Space Center, where he leads the electromagnetic physics group. He joined NASA in 1999 after an 18-year career as a physics professor at Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Va. He and his wife, Luz Marina Calle, PHD '81, live in Cocoa Beach, Fla.

John Harper, BBA '84, chief general counsel for the Las Vegas Police Protective Association Inc., maintains a law practice and is president of Lock-Gun.com Inc., a firearm safety device manufacturer.

Ted Morris, BSJ '84, is graphics manager in the advertising department at The Marion Star in Marion, Ohio.

Mike Yorio, BSC '84, is president and owner of Allegra Products, which provides specialty promotions to businesses and nonprofit organizations. He is married to Sara Borghese Yorio, BSC '84, who works in logistics and management for LensCrafters. They live in Cincinnati.

Thomas Norris, BSJ '85, recently became an advanced planning specialist at the funeral home Joseph Gawler's Sons in Washington, D.C., after working 10 years as a primary arranger with Busch Family Funeral Chapels in Cleveland.

Roger Rix, BSJ '85, is director of technical support and network technology for the American Academy of Pediatrics in Elk Grove Village, Ill. His wife, Polly Stanoch Rix, BSJ '85, is a staff writer for Doings Newspapers/ Pioneer Press. They live in Downers Grove, Ill., with their two children.

Tracy Smith, BSHEC '85, MSHEC '87, has received two awards to fund doctoral work in nutrition at Ohio State University. She was awarded the Dorothy Taber-Thompson Fellowship and the Virginia Vivian Endowment for Research from Ohio State's Department of Human Nutrition and Food Management.

Todd Bahner, BSC '86, is director of marketing for the access products division at ADC Telecommunications. He and his wife, Shari, have a son, Evan, and live in Plano, Texas.

Steve Browne, BA '86, was recognized as the Human Resource Professional of the Year by the Greater Cincinnati Human Resource Association. Browne, who works for CDS Associates Inc., lives in West Chester, Ohio, with his wife, Debbie, and two children.

Jennifer Walton Eaton, BSHS '86, MAHS '87, obtained a real estate license and is working for HER Realtors in New Albany, Ohio. She and her husband, Michael Eaton, BSRS '87, have three children, Allison, Amanda and Nicholas.

Richard Gershon, PHD '86, associate professor of communication at Western Michigan University, recently published the book "Telecommunications Management: Industry Structures and Planning Strategies."

Judy Rightmire, BSJ '86, is an administrative assistant at Immunex Corp. in Seattle.

Corinne Colbert, BSJ '87, MA '93, recently was named public affairs coordinator for Ohio University's College of Fine Arts. She will continue her freelance writing practice as well. Her husband, Doug Pettit, AB '93, is manager of the Baird Graphics Laboratories for the School of Journalism. They live in Amesville, Ohio, with their sons, Max, 4, and Ethan, 1.

Lisa McHarg, MSPE '87, a physical education teacher and track coach at Pymble Ladies College in Sydney, Australia, carried the Olympic Torch during the opening of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.

Robert Pennock, BSC '87, a teacher at Pointview Elementary in Westerville, Ohio, earned teacher certification through the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. He is the father of two boys, Samuel Olmsted and Isaac Linton.

Brian Ritter, BS '87, is director of a U.S. Navy dental clinic in Guam. He and his wife, Linda, had their first child, Isabelle Catherine, in October 2000.

Craig Travis, BA '87, director of behavioral science at Mount Carmel Family Practice Residency, became a licensed psychologist in December 2000. He and his wife, Heather, had their first child, Nathan, in October 1998. They live in Hilliard, Ohio.

Christine Danz, BBA '88, is chief financial officer at the law firm Bose McKinney & Evans in Indianapolis.

Jon Essex, BSC '88, is quality assurance manager at AT&T Broadband in Seattle. He and his wife, Susanne, had twins in January.

Susan Hofacre, MSA '88, athletic director and former director of the sport management program at Robert Morris College in Moon Township, Pa., recently published the textbook "The Economics of Sports."

Candace Hughes, MSJ '88, is an English instructor at Rio Salado College in Tempe, Ariz.

Mario Menesse, BBA '88, MBA '90, is director of product management at Nationwide Insurance in Columbus. He and his wife, Amy, have a son, Michael, and live in Powell, Ohio.

Chris Herrmann Palma, BSJ '89, is an advertising and communications specialist at SRA/McGraw-Hill in Columbus. She and her husband, Rich, have a son, Grant, and live in Westerville, Ohio.

Stann Tate, BSC '89, MSA '90, Kansas Speedway's director of public relations, was named Man of the Year by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for raising more than $42,000 for the organization.
