ATHENS, Ohio -- David Urano, former ETV producer/Higher Education Microwave Services (HEMS) operations supervisor in the Telecommunications Center since 1994, has been named senior media producer in Ohio University's Office of Media Productions.
Urano is one of three staff members in Media Productions responsible for producing promotional, informational, recruiting and outreach videos and multi-media pieces for clients throughout the university.
"Dave brings the unit a new wave of creativity and editing skills that will advance our ability to serve the media productions needs of the campus," said Paul Ladwig, director of Media Productions.
As ETV producer in Ohio University's Telecommunications Center, Urano produced and directed educational programs for internal and external clients. He also supervised students in the use of interactive audio and video equipment for distance learning over the HEMS system connecting the Athens campus with the five regional campuses.

Urano worked on corporate and commercial video productions as a free-lancer in the early 1990s, and was a location scout with the Virginia Film Office for several feature films, including The Addams Family and The Last of the Mohicans.
He has screened his own films at several festivals, including the Independent Feature Film Market in New York in 1995, and won a 1996 Telly Award for a public service announcement he wrote, produced, directed and edited for the Ohio Coalition of Math and Science. Urano earned an MFA in film from Ohio University, and holds a bachelor's degree in journalism and communications from Washington and Lee University.
