ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio University Police Department recently hired two new officers, David Valentine, of Nelsonville, and Dianna Gray, of Athens.

Valentine was a police officer with the North Baltimore Police Department before joining the university's police force. Originally from Cortland, N.Y., Valentine received his associate's degree from Owens College and is working towards a bachelor's degree at Ohio University. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and serves in the Ohio Army National Guard.

Dianna Gray joins the police department as a communications officer. She worked as a communications officer with the Athens Police Department for 12 years. Gray completed a bachelor's degree at Ohio University and is a certified peace officer. She also works with the Athens Mounted Patrol unit.
