ATHENS, Ohio -- President Robert Glidden will present his annual State of the University address at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, in 194 Irvine Auditorium.

The address, "Toward the Next Level of Excellence," will review some university achievements of the past year, goals of the current academic year, and university planning processes. The president also is expected to comment on the current environment for higher education -- including the pressure for accountability and cost containment.

The address will be aired lived on WOUB-AM 1340 and the audio will be available live at Ohio University's "Daily News" Web page, http://www.ohiou.edu/about/new/index.html. It will be relayed to regional campuses through the university's compressed video network. The presentation is open to the public.
