Designated parking spaces will be provided within 500 feet of the Convo media room for up to five satellite trucks. Arrangements to run cable between satellite trucks and the media room must be approved by a contact listed above by 3 p.m., Friday, June 12. Satellite truck parking spaces not filled by 8 a.m. will be relinquished for guest parking. Note that traffic to Athens is very heavy during commencement, so plan your trip time accordingly. News crew cars may not be parked next to satellite trucks, but a designated spot will be provided for all news media.
A five-minute feed of highlights of the Ohio University 1998 commencement with U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former hostage Terry Anderson will be at 16:30 EDT June 13. Satellite coordinates are SBS6, transponder 9. Trouble number during the uplink is (740) 593-4985.
Anderson speaks at the 10 a.m. ceremony and Gingrich speaks at the 2 p.m. ceremony. Ohio University Media Productions and the Telecommunications Center will provide an audio and video feed in Convo Room 96, next to the Physical Therapy entrance.
Capacity crowds in the 13,000-seat Convocation Center are expected for both sessions.

If you have not picked up press credentials Thursday or Friday from University News Services, you still will be able to pick them up the same day as commencement at the Physical Therapy entrance on the west side of the Convocation Center, starting at 9 a.m.
For those of you who do not have Ohio University press credentials prior to arrival at the Convo, show your media identification card to Ohio University staff and they will direct you to a parking space for news media.
