ATHENS, Ohio -- Sen. Jay Hottinger of the 31st District and member of the Highways and Transportation Committee will tour the Accelerated Pavement Load Facility on Ohio University's Lancaster campus from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10.
The Accelerated Pavement Load Facility, which opened in June 1997, is a joint project between engineers at Ohio University and Ohio State University. The $1.65 million facility is the nation's largest indoor test facility for the study of roads designed for commercial travel.
The facility is part of the Ohio Research Institute for Transportation and the Environment in the Department of Civil Engineering in Ohio University's Russ College of Engineering and Technology.
