Lt. Gov. Nancy Hollister will visit the Ohio University campus Monday (July 28) to observe the Kids on Campus program. The program serves some 360 underprivileged first through sixth graders from Athens County's five school districts. Participants spend six weeks on the Ohio University and Hocking College campuses studying a variety of topics, including computers, art, culinary arts and science. Participants pay $1 a day to attend the program, which includes breakfast and lunch. The program is funded by public and private grants.

Hollister will be available for questions from the media following the Baker Center lunch.

Following is Hollister's approximate schedule:

10:30 a.m.: Aquatic Center swimming.

10:45 a.m.: 136 Grover Center. Cher Shaffer, a Native American, teaches students about Native American culture and crafts.

11 a.m.: Ellis Hall's first-floor computer lab. Students learning math on computers.

11:25 a.m.: College Green science project.

11:40 a.m.: Baker Center lunch in first-floor corner room.

Noon: Rotary lunch at Ohio University Inn.
