ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University Police Department Lieutenant Steve Noftz recently attended the 19th session of the Law Enforcement Foundation's Police Executive Leadership College (PELC) in Columbus.
Thirty-two police executives from Ohio took the three-week course of more than 90 hours of classroom work.
PELC was designed to provide executive training for law enforcement's leadership and to provide police executives with the theories and principles necessary to lead Ohio's police agencies. Among these topics were executive leadership, team development, and total quality management.
Graduation ceremonies for PELC were held June 27 in Columbus.
Noftz is the sixth member of the Ohio University Police Department's command staff to attend PELC. He has been a member of the department since September 1986.
