ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University's Alden Library will hold a staff development day on Thursday (Aug. 1) from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., according to Alden's new human resources coordinator, Eileen Theodore-Shusta.

Theodore-Shusta said the library will remain open during those hours, staffed by student employees.

Theodore-Shusta said the new event "indicates the real commitment the library administration has toward the development and learning of the staff."

Theodore-Shusta said Dean of Libraries Hwa-Wei Lee set several goals in his annual report for 1994-1995, including service, instruction and a flexible organization.

Leslie Fleming, the new dean of Arts and Sciences, will give the opening address. The event will continue with sessions conducted by Healthbeat and University Human Resources. Sessions will cover such topics as conflict management and negativity in the workplace.
