ATHENS, Ohio -- Maggi Channell, director of special events and publications in the Development Office, has been elected chairwoman of Ohio University's Administrative Senate on the Athens campus.

Channell, a member of the senate for 12 years, had been vice chairwoman for the past two years. Her one-year term takes effect immediately and runs through the 1996-97 academic year.

An Ohio University graduate and employee on the Athens campus since 1974, Channell recently was named one of three winners of the annual Outstanding Administrator Award.

Others elected to Administrative Senate offices include: Sharon Huge, reference librarian in Alden Library, vice chairwoman; Peggy Pruitt, senior associate athletic director, secretary; and Terry Hogan, director of student activities and community service programs, treasurer.

Hogan was secretary in 1995-96, Pruitt was treasurer, and Huge was chair of the senate's Personnel Policies Committee.
