ATHENS, Ohio -- Kelli Whitlock, an associate editor and science writer at Ohio State University since 1994, has joined the staff of Ohio University News Services and Periodicals as a science and general assignment writer.

She is joining Ohio University at an exciting time, shortly after its admission to Research University II status."

She is a member of the National Association of Science Writers and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.

Whitlock has four years of daily newspaper experience as a reporter with The Huntsville (Ala.) Times and The Tuscaloosa (Ala.) News from 1990 to 1994.
