ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University Police Lt. Travis Potts is now the ninth member of the department's command staff to graduate from the Law Enforcement Foundation's Police Executive Leadership College (PELC).
PELC is designed to provide executive training in leadership for law enforcement officials. The course, held in April, May and June, consists of three weeks of rigorous instruction and requires more than 90 hours of classes. Topics discussed include executive leadership, team development and total quality management, providing the executives with the theories and principles necessary to lead Ohio's police agencies.
Potts was one of 30 police executives who were honored June 26 during PELC graduation ceremonies in Columbus. He has been a member of the Ohio University Police Department since 1993.
