ATHENS, Ohio -- Ken Flurchick, director of scientific programs for the Ohio Supercomputer Center in Columbus, will speak at a colloquium at 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24 in Room 194 Clippinger Hall on Ohio University's Athens campus.

Flurchick will speak about using the World Wide Web as an educational and training tool, drawing from his experience on the Regional Training Center for Parallel Processing, a project in North Carolina that created a Web site to help train individuals about high performance computing. He will present information on the construction and delivery of Web-based material, including text, images, audio and video multimedia components.

Located in Columbus, the Ohio Supercomputer Center is a state-funded center that offers computing resources to more than 2,500 faculty and student researchers in Ohio and Internet access to educational institutions at all levels, government agencies and commercial clients.
