ATHENS, Ohio -- Associate Professor of Counselor Education Tom Davis has been appointed associate dean of Ohio University's College of Education, according to Karen Viechnicki, interim dean of the college.
"Dr. Davis brings strong interpersonal and administrative skills to the position," Viechnicki said. "His sense of dedication to the college and to Ohio University is apparent though the work that he carries out."
Davis joined the college in 1985 as an assistant professor and in 1990 was named associate professor. He specializes in mental health and school counseling.
Prior to joining the college, Davis was assistant director at Ohio State University College of Education's Career Planning and Placement office. He is a former high school counselor at Fisher Catholic High School in Lancaster, Ohio.
Davis, a 1968 graduate of Amanda Clearcreek High School in Amanda, Ohio, completed a bachelor's degree in general studies at Ohio University, an M.A. in counselor education at Marshall University and a Ph.D. in counselor education at Ohio State University.
