ATHENS, Ohio -- A 34-member Ohio University committee studying the possibility of changing the current quarter system to another academic calendar will sponsor four public forums winter quarter.
The meetings to discuss a possible change from a quarterly academic calendar to a semester or trimester calendar will target faculty and staff, students, community members and business owners, and regional campuses at the following times and places:
*Faculty and staff, Thursday, Feb. 27, 4 to 6 p.m., 199
Irvine Auditorium, Athens campus.
*Students, Sunday, March 2, 6 to 8 p.m., 199 Irvine
Auditorium.
*Regional campuses, Tuesday, March 4, 8 to 9 a.m.,
microwave uplink.
*Community members, Tuesday, March 11, 7 to 9 p.m.,
Ohio University Inn ballroom.
The meetings are tailored for specific groups, but the public may attend any session, according to Provost Sharon Brehm, chair of the 34-member Calendar Study Task Force.
The committee, which includes faculty, students and administrators, hopes to forward its findings to President Robert Glidden spring quarter.
