ATHENS, Ohio -- Ohio University has not added any reward money to the $10,000 reward offered by the parents of Ohio University freshman Keith Noble, but is prepared to do so if evidence indicates criminal activity is involved in his disappearance.
Noble, 19, was last seen at a party at 171 W. Washington St., Athens, about 1:10 a.m. Saturday.
"We share the anguish of the Noble family and have committed the resources of Campus Safety to fully support other agencies in the search for Keith," said Vice President for Administration Gary North. "The university has offered rewards in the past where criminal violations have occurred. If it is confirmed that foul play has led to Keith's disappearance, we will join the family in offering a reward for the apprehension of anyone involved and responsible for the action. We are doing everything in our power to find Keith."
Officials from local and state law enforcement agencies on Wednesday used search dogs, horses, bicycles, a boat and a helicopter to search for Noble. The search was halted Thursday and witnesses are being re-interviewed as officers search for new leads, said Ohio University Police Chief Ted Jones.
The parents of Keith Noble, 19, are offering a $10,000 reward for information regarding their son's disappearance that leads to the discovery of his whereabouts, according to Jones. Noble's parents are staying in a university residence hall while the search continues.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Noble should contact the Ohio University Police Department at (740) 593-1911.
