TO PRESENT PUBLIC RECITAL

ATHENS, Ohio -- Several College of Arts and Sciences faculty members will present a free, public recital of music ranging from baroque to bossa nova at 8 p.m. Monday (May 5) in the 1804 Room of Baker Center on Ohio University's Athens campus.

Organized by Associate Professor of Sociology Bruce Ergood, Distinguished Professor of Botany Norman Cohn and Associate Professor of Philosophy George Weckman, the recital will include eight performances by faculty representing the departments of Modern Languages, Sociology and Anthropology, Physics, Philosophy and Environmental and Plant Biology. President Robert Glidden also will perform in a clarinet trio.

Honors Tutorial College Dean Emerita Margaret Cohn will emcee the recital.

"This is meant to be a light evening of enjoyable music," Ergood said.

The program includes works by composers Mozart, Pergolessi, Stradella, Berlioz, Satie, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Hook and Jobim/Gilberto.
