ATHENS, Ohio -- Indiana University's Professor of Religious Studies David Haberman will present two lectures on Ohio University's Athens campus. Haberman will lecture on "Yamuna: Religious Goddess, Polluted River" at 7 p.m., April 15 in Anderson Auditorium of Scripps Hall and on "Religious Studies at the End of the Twentieth Century" at 4 p.m., April 16 in Room 214 of the Research and Technology (RTEC) Building.

Haberman received his master's in divinity and his doctorate in history of religions at the University of Chicago. He has written four books and received numerous honors and awards, including the American Academy of Religion Award for Excellence for his 1994 publication,"Journey Through the Twelve Forest."

The lecture is sponsored by the Friends of India Endowment, the Ohio University Philosophy Department and the Environmental Studies Program. Both lectures are free and open to the public.
