Ohio Announces Times for 2000 Football Schedule
ATHENS, Ohio (July 11, 2000) -- Ohio University announced times for its 2000 football schedule on Tuesday, including times for four of the five home games.
Ohio's games at Peden Stadium feature two night games -- Tennessee Tech on Sept. 16 and Buffalo on October 7 -- both set for 7 p.m. The Homecoming game against Central Michigan on October 21 is slated for 2 p.m., while the 2000 Battle for the Bell with Marshall is scheduled for 4 p.m. on November 18. A time has not been set yet for the Bobcats' second home contest against Akron on September 23.
The Bobcat opener at Iowa State was recently moved to Saturday, September 2 for television. The game will be carried live on FOX Sports Net at 11:30 a.m. CT as part of the Big 12 Conference package. Ohio's game at Minnesota on September 9 will kick off at 1:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on a tape-delayed basis on the Midwest Sports Channel. Once the Mid-American Conference television package has been announced, the Bobcats will finalize its broadcasts for the Ohio Sports Network.
The Bobcats began preseason practice in early August. Freshmen reported on Tuesday, August 8, and the varsity reported on Thursday, August 10.
