ATHENS, Ohio (June 21, 2000) -- Ohio University Director of Multicultural Programs Linda Daniels will expand her
duties at the university when she becomes director of the Lindley Cultural Center effective July 1.
"I'm excited about having a chance to program activities from the ground level," Daniels said. "I
have experience as a facilities director and look forward to implementing quality programming at
Lindley."
Daniels' responsibilities will include coordinating cultural programming for the center, which was
rededicated last October after a major renovation.
"As we looked for a director, we wanted someone who understood the history of the center and the
direction we wanted to take it in the future," said Janice Edwards, associate vice president for student
affairs. "I'm excited about the future of Lindley. This is the beginning of something new and wonderful."
Daniels believes the Office of Multicultural Programs and the Lindley Cultural Center will benefit
from many of the same programs. Cultural teaching and learning, literary presentations and art exhibits are
some of the programs Daniels has planned for next year.
A native of Midland, Pa., Daniels has directed the Office of Multicultural Programs since October
1997. She came to Ohio University from the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown, where she worked for
14 years and last served as assistant vice president for student affairs.
Daniels has a bachelor's degree in journalism/communications from Point Park College and a
master's degree in college student personnel from Slippery Rock University.
