Ohio Names Tracy White Assistant

ATHENS, Ohio (June 6, 2000) -- Ohio University Director of Athletics Thomas
Boeh recently announced that Tracy White has been named the Assistant
Athletic Director of Facilities and Operations. He replaces David
Miller, who has accepted an Assistant Athletic Director position with
Southern Methodist University after three years of service at Ohio.
"We have long been impressed with Tracy, his work ethic and
high level of professionalism," said Boeh. "He has been an invaluable
member of our program for several years now, and we are very pleased he
will be assuming a leadership role and helping to advance the Ohio
Bobcats."
White, a native of Stockport, has served as the Director of
Athletic Equipment since December of 1997 where he's directed all
aspects of purchasing, maintenance, reconditioning, budgets,
distribution and inventory of athletic equipment. He's coordinated the
departmental vehicle usage, maintenance, purchase and accommodating
transportation needs for the Olympic Sports and recruitments in the
Ohio Athletics Department. He's also served as tournament manager for
all-district and regional high school basketball tournaments held at
the Convocation Center.
"From a professional stand-point, this was a direction I always
wanted to take," said White. "I'm real excited about the opportunity to
move forward with this position."
White served as the Assistant Director of Equipment for the
Ohio athletics department from December 1996 to December 1997 prior to
being named the director. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Sport
Industry in June of 1995 from Ohio and a Master's degree in physical
education in June 1996. He is also a certified Athletic Equipment
Manager from the Athletic Equipment Manager's Association.
