Ohio Closes Regular Season with 2000 Ohio Open

Athens, Ohio (May 13, 2000) -- The Ohio men's and women's track and field teams
closed the 2000 regular season with the Ohio Open at Peden Stadium on
Saturday. The Bobcats honored 13 seniors who were competing at home
for the last time in their careers.
The field for the meet consisted of competitors from Ohio,
Marshall, Denison and Ohio Wesleyan as well as a few former Bobcats
competing unattached. The meet was not scored.
This weekend's open allowed the Bobcats a final preparation for
the Mid-American Conference Championships to be held at the University
at Buffalo on Thursday-Saturday, May 18-20.
The Following Seniors were honored at the Ohio Open:
- Ben Myers, Rushville, OH -- 3-year letterwinner, 2nd in MAC Steeplechase 1998, 2-time All MAC Cross-Country, Education major
- Dennis Russo, Rockaway Township, NJ -- 3-year letterwinner, MAC Place Winner Javelin 1997, 1998, 1999, School Record Holder New Javelin 201 Ft. 6 inches, Criminology major
