BUIES CREEK, N.C., Ohio (April 3, 2000) -- The Ohio women's golf team finished tied for fifth at the
Fighting Camel Classic through first-round action on Monday.
The Bobcats got off to an uncharacteristic start in the tournament, posting a season-high 328 to tie
College of Charleston for fifth. Julee Sovesky (New Castle, Pa.) posted the team's best finish with
an 80 to tie for 14th, while Heather Fueger's (W. Lafayette, Ind.) 81 was good enough for 18th.
Host-institution Campbell owns an eight-stroke lead over Penn State (314) after the day's action
with a 306. Troy State is third (321) and UNC Greensboro is fourth (322).
The 36-hole tournament is being hosted by Campbell University at the Keith Hills Country Club in
Buies, Creek. Final-round action tees off at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3.
