Ohio Women's Golf Team In Fifth After First Round of Fighting Camel Classic

BUIES CREEK, N.C., Ohio (April 3, 2000) -- The Ohio women's golf team finished tied for fifth at the Fighting Camel Classic through first-round action on Monday.

The Bobcats got off to an uncharacteristic start in the tournament, posting a season-high 328 to tie College of Charleston for fifth. Julee Sovesky (New Castle, Pa.) posted the team's best finish with an 80 to tie for 14th, while Heather Fueger's (W. Lafayette, Ind.) 81 was good enough for 18th.

Host-institution Campbell owns an eight-stroke lead over Penn State (314) after the day's action with a 306. Troy State is third (321) and UNC Greensboro is fourth (322).

The 36-hole tournament is being hosted by Campbell University at the Keith Hills Country Club in Buies, Creek. Final-round action tees off at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3.
